Summer Vacation in Kashmir 2024: Important Update
Tasaduq Hussain, the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), clarified on Wednesday that there are currently no plans to announce summer vacations in schools across the Kashmir valley. He cited the pleasant weather as the reason behind this decision, mentioning that the temperature stands at 32 degrees Celsius.
Hussain addressed the media, affirming that there are no proposals to alter the school timings in Kashmir at present. He emphasized that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will only consider changes in case of extreme weather conditions.
Highlighting the department’s focus on building students’ resilience to various weather conditions and challenging circumstances, Hussain stressed the importance of preparing them to tackle adversity effectively in the future.
He questioned the rationale behind announcing summer vacations in May, pointing out the potential challenges of managing schooling during the subsequent months of June and July.
These statements from the DSEK come amidst a heat wave affecting northern India, including the Kashmir valley, where temperatures have been above normal.
